monitor speaker
I recently purchased a Dell S2718HX monitor to connect to my Dell 3650 Inspiron computer. Whenever my computer sleeps then awakes the speaker on the monitor no longer works and says its not connected. I have to restart the computer to get it to work again. The monitor is connected with an HDMI cable.

Hi Finster61,
Have you updated the audio drivers, if not please visit our website support.dell.com type the service tag under drivers and downloads, select find it my self update the BIOS and Audio, Video drivers and check if the issue is fixed.

Thank you this worked. Its a shame when I tried chat and called support they couldn't help me. They both just wasted my time asking for service codes, serial numbers, order numbers and on and on until I just said forget it.
