"important" bios update for xps 8900

I received a notification that I should install an "important" bios update.  I have never done this on any of my previous Dells.  How can I find out what the changes are.  I will not update my bios unless there is a tangible reason.  Why should I take any risk unless there is good reason?

Can anyone help with info?

If so, many thanks.

According to the support site, BIOS 2.1.3 has:

Fixes & Enhancements

Enhancements
- Improved system stability for virtual machine environment
- Improved system stability for long Media playback.
- Updated Dell Diagnostic to 4302.15

Read / follow the directions carefully to run the flash update. Disable your antiviral software before you run the update from within Windows. And probably good idea to disconnect all peripherals except mouse, monitor and keyboard too.

Any reason I can't just ignore this if I have not had any problems?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I always ignore BIOS updates unless I have had problems.

Read Dell's policy on BIOS updates and potential failures.

BIOS 2.1.3 also has a fix for the Win 10 WHEA_Uncorrectable_Error BSOD that occurs randomly when the system has both integrated Intel GPU and NVidia PCIe GPU and is turned on or if it has been on for a long period of time.

Only you can decide what's best for you...
