(redirected) Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration Solution

I'm trying to calibrate my Dell U2413 monitor using Dell Ultrasharp Color Calibration Solution. But I get the message: "Please verify that a USB cable is connected between the Dell Ultra Sharp Display and your computer, then try again". I've trying for quite a while so sometimes I'm able to go past this message and get to where I connect the  i1Display calibrator but then I get another message that it was not able to start the test. When I try to calibrate using i1Display's own i1Profiler software I can calibrate the monitor. But when I start my Inspiron 660s (OS MS 8.1) I get the alert that my Dell U2413 needs to be calibrated. Is there any conflict between Dell Color Calibration Solution and i1Profiler? Any input will be appreciated.
