upgrade videocard for dimension 4100 1ghz

I want to upgrade my videocard so many to check out dont no witch is best.

was thinking on the Ge Force FX 5700 utra http://http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?TabPage=overview&sku=A0223376&c=us&l=en...  but dont if it will even work with my system.i called dells upgrade dept. (whitch seemed more interstand in just selling me something) they said to go with the Radeon All in Wonder card. never said which 1 and i see theres many differnt 1s.

any ideas out there???

5700 ultra or ati 9600xt will both work fine. both cards are similar. you might even consider an ati 9700 pro or nvidia 5900 for around or a little under $200.

if i were you i would consider at near 140$ range..  if you want to buy a 200$ card, you might consider getting acpu/mobo or a new comp.. you comp is old and 9700 would be overkill imo.. i would go for 9600pro at most or a 5600ultra ....

most games are graphic card intensive, so it wouldnt be such a stretch to get a 9700. also the 9600xt and 5700ultra replaced the 9600pro and 5600. might as well get the most current mainstream offering.

stick with the mid range cards, or you could end up running into power issues... i believe the 4100 has a 200w psu..

You don't need to spend that much money for a card for your computer. The processor and fsb will be a bottle neck. This is all the card you need:

that was going to be my next ? was if i had the power to run the 5700 ultra

im pretty sure im working with 200 w. I looked at the ge force4 Ti 4200 looked ok

but id really like to use the driectx9b i have and push my puter as far as i can without burnning it up. just dont have the cash to buy new puter this year

do have a few bucks tho so i want to get video& harddrive whats better maxtor,western digtail.... or does it matter? have 20 gig maxtor
