video card on 8400 PCIe

Does the 8400 power supply have the 6 pin plug or standard 4 pin?
On the powered video cards I understand that they require a 6 pin connection.
Does the ati radeon X600XT card require a power connection. I have the X300 and I'm looking to upgrade. I'm really not a gamer.
Thanks

The D8400 has all the appropriate cables for an upgrade of the graphics card. Not all graphics cards will need the extra connector, and from the looks of it, you won't need to connect a power cable to an X600.

It is not really an upgrade to go from an X300 to an X600XT. For the same price as the X600XT or just a little bit more, you can get a GeForce 6600GT, which will offer much better performance for about the same price.

Also, if you're not really a gamer, do you even need to upgrade?

Thanks for your reply. You make a lot of sense and I'll look into the other card if I decide to upgrade. Although I really won't be getting much of a benefit. I'm heavy into digital photography and I don't think the graphics upgrade will do much more than the X300.

It's nice to hear from " level headed guys".

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for the reply. I think for the moment based on what you guys say, I'll stay with the X300.
