will a Intel QX6700 part#HH80562PH0678M work in my XPS 410?
just ordered a intel kentsfield quadcore qx6700 , 2.67 Ghz, lga 775, L2 8M processor will this work in my XPS410????

The next time you're considering a CPU or other hardware upgrade, my suggestion would be to ask before you order.

The Dell CPU is validated. We never tested the retail one.

I thought I had ordered something else, then when I read the fine print it was different!! Anyway I installed it and it seems to be working fine, but now the CPU fan sounds like it is running louder and faster (I used the original). Don't know if that's indicative of a current or soon-to-be problem.....What do you think?
