Don't quote me on this but from what I understand of the Xeon series, they are not interchangeable with the consumer series or i series of chips and that is because the Xeon chip sets that are on the motherboard are designed differently then the i series chip sets. Xeons are also not really built for gaming but more for heavy computing workloads and business applications. I have heard and seen people using them in gaming rigs, but it was for a cheap build or mostly a wash when compared to a decent i5 system.
Again don't quote me on this because its mostly up to the motherboard manufacture in terms of what processors they will support, but I highly doubt your Inspiron will be cross compatible that way.
There are physical blocks to putting a xeon in the socket.
There are pins that would need to be reconfigured.
This Xeon has no intel video so Its not likely to work.
Im not going to spoon feed all the details. In general this does not work.
The 3847 only takes short video cards. My gaming upgrade
was the following.
16 gigs ram which is max.
Core I7 4790K 4.0 Ghz CPU.
Geforce GTX 570 9 inch long single fan version.
