looking for some assistance with

all of a sudden the sound is "dead". Sound card is fine. subwoofer problem?

What model PC? What Operating System?
However, plug a headset into the GREEN speaker jack on the rear and see if you get sound. If you do, that would indicate a speaker system problem - either wiring or an electroncis problem. Unfortunately if the speakers are bad they are in the "non repairable" category so you wil have to look for new speakers, if they are not under warranty.
