Alternative to booting from CD

Question

Hi, I am running Win 2000 on a Optiplex GXi which from what i gather from reading other posts cannot be booted from CD. I wanted to format and reinstall Windows 98SE on this system and was wondering how i could go about this. Thanks,

All you have to do is get a 98 boot disk. put the disk in the floppy, insert the 98 CD , format the hard drive. sys the hard drive. copy the files from the 98 CD to the hard drive and do an install from there. you could do the install from the CD but I found it easier if the files reside on the HD that it loads faster and you dont have to scramble for your CD every time you Update a driver or OS option.
