Can't Find Zino HD (400) Ethernet Controller Driver

I reinstalled windows (fresh and clean) after a bad virus. I followed all the rules and downloaded all the dell drivers from here and SP1 from windows onto a thumb drive before blowing it out.

All the drivers and the service pack installed fine, but still no internet 'connection'. Computer says:

"Internet Explorer Can not display Web Page

*Diagnose Connection Problem

Install a Driver for your Network Adaptor"

Windows shows the ethernet card under utilities, but no information about it. Only calls it 'unknown' (no MFG info), and says I need to install the driver.

Anyone been here before? Thanks!

Hi Mars22581,

Locate the network controller in device manager and tell me what is says about the device. If you see a question mark, let me know that too.

Sounds like you're on the right track, Osprey!

Under Device manager,

'Other Devices' tab (Which does have a question mark on it)

Sub tab "Ethernet Controller" (with an exclamation point on it)

Ethernet Controller Properties:

-General tab

Device type: Other

Manufacturer: Unknown

Location: PCI Bus2, Device 0, Function 0.

-Status tab

Drivers for device not installed (code 28)

To find driver click Update Driver

-Driver tab

Driver provider: Unknown

Driver date: Not Availible

etc etc...

Hope that info helps.

No joy, but we're getting closer...

"This Broadcom install is invalid for the detected Operating System"

Scratch that, my friend.

I followed your train of thought and found driver R235081 (On dell's website, you have to search for driver R235080, and it's the second driver labled '080) Funny thing is, the first '080 actually downloads driver '085...

But, I'm writting this message from my now working computer! Thank you so much for your help!

Hi there,

Can you please guide me to how to get the driver R235080. I've been trying to search for it but to no avail on the dell website. I've been facing the same trouble as you did with your dell inspiron zino 400.

Help please
