Dell Inspiron 530S
I have an inspiron 530S Desktop. I am running windows 7 on it. I have 3 gigs of memory. I went and purchased a Nvidia GEFORCE 8400GS GRAPHICS CARD. It is 512MB DDR2 PCI. I would like to install it on this computer I just purchased. Can I install this particular Video Grapichs Card in this particular computer? If so where is the location where I need to install it. I gave a good bit of money for this and I hate to just put it on a shelf and never use it. Any help wopuld greatly be appreciated.

If it's a PCI card, it fits into a PCI slot; if it's PCIe 16x, it fits into the bigger PCIe slot.

You can find the service manual here:
http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insp530s/en/OM/HTML/parts.htm#wp1578680
This is the diagram they provide for your motherboard
:
You should have 1 (#24) PCI-express X16 slot, 1 (#23) PCI-express X1, & 2 (#22 & #21) PCI slots.

Is there anywhere I can pull up a diagram of a Inspiron 530s. I need to see where the slots are that mine will snap into.
Thanks, Don

The 530s has a PCIe x 16 slot on the mobo for a graphics card, and your 8400 is a bit puney for your system. Better off buying a 4650 HERE, that will work even better in your system.
