Dell optiplex 755 memory issue
I recently acquired a used Dell Optiplex 755 with 4 GB of Kingston memory (KVR800D2N5K2).
I replaced it with 8 GB of Kingston memory (KVR800D2N6).
When I plugged in the computer, it went thru it self test but stopped with just the power light on (green) and I could not turn it on (no post followed). I quickly removed the memory and put back the original 4 GB and was able to turn it on with the post coming up fine.
My only question is that does going from CAS 5 to 6 cause the problem or is the memory just bad?
Thanks in advance.

Found the solution, when I inquired about the memory, I discovered that it was AMD type memory. Hence the reason that it would not boot on the Intel 755 motherboard.

The Density of the ram is the issue and you cant mix .
They need to be all the same density rank and speed.
