Dimension 3000 will not turn on

Cannot turn the CPU on.  No previous problems noted.  Just will not turn on.  Followed the instructions and removed and reseated the power, memory and hard drive.  There are no lights or sounds when attempting to turn on.  What could possibly be wrong?

Would really appreciate your help as this computer is being used by my foster children for their games.

Is the power button LED, solid green, blinking green, solid amber, blinking amber, or off?

Please check the sequence of the four Diagnosic Lights on the back panel of the case.

The Dimension 3000 Troubleshooter and Diagnostic Guide is HERE

There are no lights at all, not on the power button or the back panel.  Could it be the power supply?

I have been looking into the purchase of a new power supply but am having trouble getting the specifics of a power supply that is compatible.

Yep, sounds like the power supply has problems and would be the first part to replace.

The 3000 has an open back panel, most standard generic stock ATX PSU's, with or without the on/off switch and with either a 20-pin or 20 + 4-pin main motherboard connector, can be installed.

You should be able to buy the power supply unit from a local computer store or from any online vendor.
