Dimension 8200 Runs SLOW and Crashes
I'm running Win XP Home Prob 1 the original CPU was 2.53 at 533FSB I installed a 2.66 and i'm getting an error of the wrong CPU The bios is A09 and i don't what else to do with this problem. Prob 2 every time i install a CD or DVD the system reboots no BSOD it also shuts down after a cd format the error on this is Human interface divice access service terminated with the following error The specified module could not be found.I'm not sure what to do i tried to use the windows repair which is (in the RUN box typing sc query service name) but it wouldn't show me a thing. The last thing the system runs slow, it took almost 45 min to boot up with 100% cpu usage the whole time the only way i could get it running right was to pull the bios battery and reset it i did that 2 times and got it running right but this is the 3rd time this has happened in 6 months Please HELP i'm preaty good on repairing Computers but this has me stumped. 512 ram, nvidia 4600 ti 300GB HD when it runs good its great.Just to add to this i've been reading these and cpu speed is set to compatible the problem started in the normal mode.

As for the speed problem, open BIOS setup (F2 before XP starts to load) and look for CPU speed setting option. It should be set to Normal, not Compatible. Maybe after you make that change some of the other problems will go away.
