Extension cable for Canon USB scanner ?

Hello Forum,

I have a Dell Dim. 8200 with XPsp2.  I also have a Canon Lide 20 scanner which I need an extention cable for. In the manual it says Powered via USB port no adapter required. The cable it uses now has a little round adapter or something similar on each end of the cable where it connects to the computer and the scanner. I want to get an extension for this scanner but don't know if I can use one or what type to get. If anyone know what I'm talking about. I would be very grateful for any help as to what kind of extension to get...   thank you... Lee
