Forced to use legacy to boot windows dell inspiron 3847

So I remember a forum post saying that in order to use graphics cards in a dell 3847 you had to turn off secure boot. I remember doing that in advance for when I would get a gtx 1050 for my pc, but ever since then I've had to press F12 during boot up and boot through "legacy" to get into windows. It will no longer automatically boot windows, even if I re-enable secure boot/turn off legacy oprom. Worse, I've read that pascal cards don't work when using legacy, is this true? And can I make my computer boot into windows automatically again?

"pascal cards don't work when using legacy, is this true?"   No that is False.  Pascal cards DID NOT EXIST at the time when the 3847 windows 8 bios was made.  This means secure boot MUST BE OFF and Legacy CSM and OPTION ROMS must be on.   Doing this may require total scorched earth reinstall of the os.
