Graphics Card windows 7
Hi there,
I have a Dell Dimension 3000 which i loaded windows 7 on and goes well except for the graphics. Graphics were great with XP. It is reverting to the lowest resolution and can't be changed. Will i need a new graphics card or is there another way to fix it. The existing card says it is a standard VGA. Thanks

Hi Chappies.jc,
There is a procedure in this link for loading the Dell XP driver that should work.
The alternative would be to purchase a PCI video card that supports Windows 7.

Glad that worked. But take a look at the link rdunnill provided for a video card upgrade that may get you better performance running Windows 7.

To add to Osprey's alternative suggestion, I've had good results with this card: www.amazon.com/.../ref=sr_1_2
It's not especially powerful, but it's reasonably modern and accelerates video playback.

Fantastic, yes it worked copying new driver files into the dell folder. When I upgraded no files went into the the dell driver file. It now recognises my chip and works well. Thanks so much Osprey4
