Hard drive upgrade xps 720

need more space on my xps 720 basically , i have the 500gb nvida stripe hard drives that came with the pc, are the any other hard drives i can add that will work with this ? i have room for two more hard drives

As long as you have available SATA connectors on the mb any SATA drive will work...There are 6 connectors on the board and if you have opticals they use one each..

Yes you will have to go into the bios to enable the SATA port you connect the drive too. You might want to open the case up and make sure that you have the extra SATA cables in your system. There has been some posts i seem to recall that some system did not come with the cable for the empty drives.

If you dont then you will need to opbtain a SATA cable too. Also if you have to get a cable make shure it has a 90 deg connector on the harddrive end..

so say if i buy  http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-142-SE  all ill have to do is connect it ? no messing around in the bios ? sorry i know hardly anything about hard drives

thanks ^^   yeah i have one free sata cable but unfortunately the last free hdd power cable is out of reach :( should work fine if i disconnect it from one of the disk drives and attach it to the hard drive, ill just buy a Serial ATA PSU Converter for the disk drive should do the job fine

 

 think ill get this drive, think it will work on this dell,  its SATA-II though
