Dell has not removed the file. There is a 32 bit and a 64 bit version.
R145551.EXE 32 BIT
R145149.EXE 64 BIT
Most of the hardware uses Native Windows 7 Drivers with the exception of the Audio Codec.

Hi installed a creative sound blaster x-fi sound card dowloaded vista drivers all is well. The Integraded audio is faulty wouldn't function with xp pro either. Keep up the the good work guys.

Sorry to hear the old sound would not work but it is good you
the have sound working from the other card !
By chance did you check the bios to see if the old sound was turned on ?

Hi yes I did and I turned it off to install the sound card. I do know a little about Dell computers lol. I have a Dimension E510,E520,9100,9150,9200,2 OPTILEX GX 270'S A 280 and the 620. I have had OPTILEX GX 240,260 3 PRECISION 340'S DIMENSION 2400,3000,3 4600'S 3 4700'S Oh and I forgot my first was a Optiplex GX110 Tower.

Forgive me for my confusion. I have a gx620 and I can't choose vista from teh drop down menu. How do I find the driver?

There is no drop down for it Dell removed them but you can get it
on the link above !

Glade it worked for you , Dell did have this as a drop down
at one time but removed them because he did not
want to support a computer that did not come with Vista
installed .
Going to Dell support would not have helped you they may have
told you your computer was not approved for Vista and no support will be given to you !!!

That file did not work either; but it did produce the missing ADIHDAUD.sys file which when copied to the DELL driver folder allowed the installation of the driver.
Sound now works.

Downloaded the R145551 file and the directories install .
But get message the ADIHDAUD.sys file is missing.
I have googled for it but so far have not found a copy.
Anyone know were it can be found?
I have GX280 and wish I had not upgraded to Vista from XP but now I have, would like to get the sound working.
