How do I open the case on my Dimension 4600?

If there are screws present take them off first. Then slide the cover and it should open. While holding a quick release button.

I didn't realize that only 1 side slides off.

The only screws on the back are the ones that hold the power supply to the chasis. Does the case cover slide off to the front or rear?

No problem. The 4600 case is not a clam shell just like my 8300. It is actually a quick release slide cover.
