Lady Keller,
The procedure can vary, depending on the operating system. XP has a hidden administrator account in the safe mode.
Shutdown your computer. When it starts, press F8 at the Dell screen. Then enter to the safe mode. Then when you see the administrator account, click on it it may ask you for the password, leave it blank, unless you changed it.
If you cannot get in tha way, then this is your solution.
Forgot Administrators Password
Instructions are there for XP & Vista.
