Moving dimension 2400 guts to different case. Wont power on.
I have an old dimension 2400 that im trying to put in a different case. The new case is the same size as the old one and everything lines up great.
Using same power supply from dell too.
The problem im having is that when i first plug it in it starts but for a second and then goes off. I try to power it up using the power button on case but power button does nothing. I took the mb out of the case and tried it and still same thing.
The green led is on. All i have plugged in are the power and psu fan, and front panel connector. Im pretty sure the front panel connector is right because the case was labled and the mb was labled for power.
Any help would be great. Thanks

I am trying to put the guts in a non dell case. The dell case was falling apart. I have the blue 9 pin connector for the power. hdd, and power led plugged into the mb. I have those leads running to leads of the front panel connector which i had to splice.

When I modified my 3000 case to accept a non-Dell mainboard, the only splicing required was for the front audio port. The front panel connector (switch and LEDs) slipped on to the mATX heade with no modifications.

thanks yall. i ended up shorting the connection on the mb to figure out which one was the power. i found that the blue and orange were power. they were not labled. the red and white wires were labled power so i assumed they were for the switch. the pc is up and running but of course now ive come to other issues but thats for another day. thanks for your help.
