Optiplex 745 Quad Core ?

I wile be upgrade my Optiplex  745 with the Intel Quad Core.

Is these possible?  I hope so.

On this topic the user say that it will be working the Intel quad proc
“ i bought an Optiplex 745 with a P4D 2.8. I pulled it out and dropped in an Intel Extreme QX6700 Quad Core and it worked perfectly.
No error messages,
no problems. I
t runs and recognises all four cores and utilizes them appropriately. Just letting the community know. “

So your saying that the Optiplex 745 will run any Intel Quad Chip?  For real?  That is awesome.  Do you have to get a bios update?  I assumed the quad chip/card would not physically fit in the socket input.

Yes it does work.  I am using it right now.  You can also use a Quad core in an E520.  It works without issue.
