The Parts description makes no sense to me

What you list are Dell part numbers and a brief if nebulous description. As for the Video card, Google knows everything if you know how to ask.

Resolution would not be show since these are part numbers, and resolutions can be changed by the user.

Hi, and thanks, I'm trying to buy another dell with similar components to my E1705 and 9300 for back up I  know  I know use an external I have one of them too but If I wona go back to business in a jiffy with out a down time well that is the only way I know how. So the reason I'm complaining is because in the majority of listings the max resolution and graphics card never mention and most of the time you get a service tag and your tolled go look it up, well? Look up what?  Nothing there so the question really is where dell keeps this information?

And one more thing Is that even possible to fined an identical unit.

Sorry I didn’t know I was in PC's, I appreciate every one's inputs and help but what I'm after is not interpretation of the parts list in the post but how a ignorant (limited knowledge) like me is to interprets any parts list, If their is a way please share.

I don't understand the OP's premise to have identical hardware as backup, unless the intention is to swap out parts if the 9300 dies, though that's not so easy on a laptop.

All you really need is another recent Windows PC and legal versions of your software that run under whatever version of Windows is loaded on the new machine (eg, Win 7, these days). And if all your personal files are backed up regularly on external media (CD/DVD or hard drive), you'd be back to work on the backup machine immediately.

I understand. I did not see that you ever listed your system model, but unless you are buying two systems at the same time, you will have to look for used systems from Dell, eBay, or elsewhere.

But; I'm pretty sure that Dell would be happy to sell you two identical, bright and shiny, new laptops. :emotion-36:  :emotion-36:

For the most part the parts descriptions Dell uses are pretty easy to understand just by reading them. Of course I worked in Dell technical support for eight years so I'm very familiar with the format. If you want a clearer explanation of what's in a Dell computer without using the list you can always download a system profiler app like Belarc Advisor. Just do a Google search for it.

You can look in Device Manager. It will tell you the names of major parts that are installed, eg an nVidia video card, brand of hard and optical drives, etc. And if you need more than that, you can google the info you get from Device Manager.

There are also a number of free utilities that will tell you exactly what's inside the case, eg, Belarc Advisor, Everest Home Edition, CPU-Z etc.
