Troubleshooting DellnInspiron 560s
Hi all. Running under normal operation of Windoes 7 64 bit OS, the system suddenly blanks (display appears to go into stadby, and monitor), but on the power i see the power LED go orange on and off. I also hear 4 short beeps repeatitive. Is this a PSU issue? Alas, since i'm out of warrenty, can u purrchase extended anytime?

Four beeps, according to the Dell beep chart I have, is a memory problem. First thing, with the PC powered off, reseat the memory modules (unplug then plug back in) and see if that helps. If not, and you have more than one memory module try one at a time in case one of the modules is bad.
From what I've read, if it's out of warranty you may be able to get an extended warranty but it has to be certified that it all works, which would leave you out since you have a problem.
