how to remove splash ads on start up

Both Zone Alarm and Ad Subtract (of all programs) have splash ads on start up. They annoy me. Does anyone know how to get rid of them. Thanks.

For Zonealarm go to C: Windows/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Startup and right click the ZA Icon go to properties and add -nosplash to the end of the target line.
There is a space between -nopopup -nosplash

So that changes the target line from this:
"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe"

to this:
"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe -nopopup -nosplash"

Is that correct?

to this:
"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe -nopopup -nosplash"

I just checked my change in Properties and the only thing that looks different from your line is the ending quotation marks are after exe" and not nosplash.

like this:
"C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zonealarm.exe"-nopopup -nosplash

Hi,

I just found out how to remove the Ad-Subtract splash screen:

To disable the splash screen go to START --> Programs --> StartUp.
Locate the AdSubtract file (+/- icon) in that menu, right-click on
it and select PROPERTIES. In the dialog box that pops up you will
see a text box labeled "Target". At the end of the target line TYPE
one (1) space and the following text:

-nosplash

For example, the entire line might be:
"C:\Program Files\AdSubtract\adsub.exe" -nosplash

Click 'Apply' and then 'OK'.

I thought it was quite nice of them to provide this solution, although they did say that upgrading would also do the trick (followed by a smilie).
