parallel port
Is there any way to add a parallel port on the back of an xpx 8700?

Hi ,
The ports on the rear end of the system are soldered on the system board ,hence an additional parallel port cannot be added .You may use a USB to parallel port converter ( this system has USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports as well) .
If there are any more queries do reply to this post with the name of the device that you are planning to connect to this system .
Awaiting your response .
Have a good day ahead !
Kindest Regards ,

The XPS 8700 has two PCI-e x1, and one PCI-e x4 slot. So you should be able to find a PCI-e card that meets your needs for as little as maybe $10-$20. Just make sure whatever card you buy is compatible with your version of Windows.
And if you're trying to connect an older device such as a printer or scanner, you should also make sure there's a suitable driver for that device that's compatible with your version of Windows before you go any further.
(Note: the PCI-e x16 slot should only be used for a video card, even if you're using onboard video.)
