stuck in caps lock mode...

Don't know if it's a software or hardware  problem.

Whenever I start to do a lot of typing, my computer get stuck in caps lock mode and will not revert back to lower case... even thought I keep switching back and forth it gets 'stuck'.   Also, if I highlight a phrase to cut, it will stay in highlighted mode and not release me... have to reboot it order to get it to stop..

Have a Dim 4600c, only 6 months old..  Have Word perfect pre-installed...
Happens in all types of typing programs..  word pad, ie6, mail...

Not sure where the bug is or how to stop it...with out having to reboot..

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling Word perfect  but did not solve the problem...

Any suggestions??

Tks in advance..
Sheilah

I experienced the same thing.  This would happen when my keyboard filter was accidentally turned on by holding the shift key down for several seconds.

Check help under "keyboard filter."  I don't remember what I did, but I made some changes to the way the keyboard filter works and have not had the problem recur.  Good luck!
