Cannot Create Extended Drive

I'm trying to create a new extended drive in DiskXtender for Windows 6.30.200. The operation fails with:

Could not create extended drive X:!

ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION (1)

Incorrect function.

Dx_EmcService.log, Error.log, Warning.log, and Event.log contain no information regarding the error.

Audit.log contains:

2/6/2010  5:21:34 PM DOMAIN\User Create Filter 0 0 Fail 1

The account is a member of the local Administrators and DxAdministrators groups. I've tried extending multiple drives on the same system. Under what circumstances will this operation fail? The error itself is quite generic. There's nothing special about the drive. It's a RAID-5 logical disk on an HP Smart Array P400, ~400 GB, NTFS, 2048 byte block size. Using the default block size of 4096 bytes results in the same error.
Thoughts? Ideas?

This smells of a MS Windows error rather then a Dx error. Is the drive

you intend to create an ED functional under window? Can you

format it? Create folderrs etc???  Not positive but do you have

other ED's that are SAN attached and working?

EMC resolved the issue for us. The DiskXtender configuration had been restored from a server that was a cluster node. The current server is not a cluster member. After tweaking the necessary configuration items, everything worked as expected. Hopefully, they'll create a knowledge base article to document the fix.
