Many vendors offer cloud storage; however, most of them only offer pieces of what ECS can do. Some vendors can support Object and HDFS or offer block storage and object storage as separate services. ECS offers universal protocol support in one appliance for maximum flexibility. Using ECS appliance, an enterprise or service provider can support multiple applications that use multiple access protocols on one platform. No other vendor currently offers universal accessibility.
