Supported Cisco Switches?

Hi @all,

do we have a list of compatible cisco switches with ECS 3.x?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards

Matthias

Hi Matthias,

Please help me understand how the Cisco switches would connect to ECS.

For example, do you need to connect Cisco switches to the ECS top-of-rack Arista or Dell switches?

Cheers,

/Chris

Hi Matthias,

Any Cisco switch meeting the following requirements is compatible with ECS.

MUST HAVE:

  • 2 physical switches (all ECS 10G networks are setup as redundant HA)
  • At least 24 10Gbe SFP+ ports per switch
  • 1RU footprint per switch assuming that the switch will be installed within the ECS cabinet
  • Supports LACP
  • Supports Virtual Port-channel (vPC)

PREFERRED:

  • Low latency switches

For example, any 10Gbe switch from the Nexus 3000 series will fit these requirements.  For reference, the Nexus 3524/3534-X would be the closest fit to the existing Arista switches.

Cheers,

/Chris

Hi Chris,

the switches should be installed instead of the DELL frontend switches.
