Bogus Study Materials – Bad News for Proven Professionals

The Proven Professional Program maintains an ongoing effort to ensure the integrity and security of its certification exams.  We recently uncovered another website, Selftestengine.com that offers so called “study materials” for sale and a posting on Scribed.com pointing to the availability of "study aides".  This is just another example of a commercial site that takes advantage of the growing importance of exam based certification to make themselves money at your expense.  In some cases these are copies of the same practice exams offered for free by the Program.  In other cases, these "practice tests" include materials obtained illegally.

The only approved preparation materials for Proven exams are training courses and practice tests available from the EMC Education website. The use of unauthorized “study materials”, practice exams, answer keys etc. is a breach of the candidate agreement.  Our security systems monitor these sites.  We also have forensics systems in place that monitor person’s individual exam results.

Get the word out. The use of these materials undermines the effort and time that honest candidates put into earning a Proven certification.  And those who see to short cut the preparation process should know that It is not worth putting a reputation or even employment at risk.
