I just need a clarification, so you are saying that I can take any level exam as my first exam. I was under the impression that it is mandatory to take the 001 exam before I can take the higer level exams.
Hello. You CAN take our certiification exams in any sequence (any order) that you like. One word of caution, though, if you pass a Specialist level certification exam you will not get your credential (your certificate) until you also pass the Associate level exam.
I hope that's clear. Take exams in any order; but you only achieve certification in a building block fashion (Associate first, then Specialist).
Please let me know if this has been helfpul.
The Associate level course, Information Storage and Management, contains very broad coverage of the industry. Things like Data Protection: RAID, Storage Area Networks, IP SAN, Storage Virtualization and many others. This level of certification ensures that you're able to speak to a wide range of information storage and management topics.
The Specialist level certifications typically delve into more product, task or role-based experiences.
It's this combination that makes EMC Proven Professional certification unique. Obtaining a Specialist certification means that you have a broad and expansive knowledge of the overall Information Storage and Management industry; and expertise in working with EMC products.
I'm not sure this is the exact video he was referencing, but it explains the Associate level certification, Information Storage and Management, far better than I can!
