Enabling Symmetrix for FAST with FTS for 3rd Party Storage

A Symmetrix storage system is a large capital investment for many customers. However, the expense impact can be eased by extending the features of Symmetrix’ fully automated storage tiering (FAST) feature to existing storage arrays in the customer site.

Doing so would enable the footprint of EMC to grow in a well-defined way. Additionally, customers can save money in terms of full tech refresh being carried out in the data centers. This would ensure that customers are able to leverage the power of Symmetrix by enhancing their existing infrastructure with a small change.
