Dell CAB files corrupt?

I hope I'm not doing something stupid. But it looks like you have some corrupted CAB files on here. I have been downloading them, and all of the ones I am about to list paused in the middle of the download in IE, it will let you resume. But when you go to use like winzip to extract them, it will go partially through the extract process then throws an error saying that a file was corrupt. I have tried to download and extract them on multiple computers and it is coming from the site like this. I even tried to download in Chrome, it wouldn't pause in the middle of the d/l, but still wont let me extract them. Some of the CAB files extract with no problem, except for the ones below.

The ones I know are giving me issues are:

E5540-WIN7-A08-XWXXW

E7450_7450-WIN8.1-A03-H2N2R

E7250_7250-WIN8.1-A03-TXCPK

E5550_5550-WIN8.1-A04-61YX7

E7250_7250-WIN7-A03-XP8FM

M6800-win7-A08-W6J46

M6800-win8.1-A05-V64N2

M4800-win7-A08-4VX3D

Before I pressed post, I checked this in WinRAR also. Same result.

I was told in my email that people had replied to this post, but nothing is showing up here so I figured I would try again to see if anything is better.

I went back through the ones today that I listed above and I was able to get all but 3 done. Still having issues with:

E7450_7450-WIN8.1-A03-H2N2R

M6800-win7-A08-W6J46

M6800-win8.1-A05-V64N2

Just to clarify, I tried this on multiple computers with multiple browsers with the same result.

Hello ,

Are you still facing this cab download issue? could you tell me from which location you are downloading these cabs,we wanted to know if this download issue is specific to some regions, because i am able to download cabs however time taken to download depends on the network bandwidth.

i would suggest is use download manager to download larger files.

Thanks,

Hema.A

I am facing these same issues. Downloading a cab has about a 2/3 possibility of succeeding. Retrying over and over again eventually fixes it. This happens in diferent physical computers/browsers/offices/OS-es so it is clearly a server issue. My guess is that there are several loadbalanced servers where one is unreliable. Eventually you will get the download from another server and all is well. This problem even occurs when downloading with some of the powershell scripts from en.community.dell.com/.../6683.driver-pack-catalog

I hope this can be fixed because it is very annoying to download from the Dell servers like this. Both slow and unreliable. The first problem can be circumvented by putting a computer to work over night, but if you have to check every download and then redownload several you just lose a lot of time (and faith)

P.S.
Download location is The Netherlands, several cities
Browser = IE11, Chrome 44, Powershell
OS = Windows 8.1, Windows 10
Downloaded files that don't work = Several packs for Optiplex 9020AIO, Latitude 6500-6540, M4400

I would agree. I was able to finally get them all downloaded, but after several tries, sometime up to 10 tries before it would finally take. Unfortunately, I had a co worker accidently delete all the files that I had previously downloaded, which means I have to download all these files again. It would be nice if it would work on the first try. The ones that took me the longest to get downloaded were the M6800 drivers, for windows 7 and windows 8.1. But many others gave me issues as you can see from the original post. This was tried on multiple computers using multiple different web browsers. I am located close to Atlanta Georgia.

Currently I test the downloaded files with 7zip (select them all, rightclick, 7-zip, test archive). Anything that fails will be redownloaded...retested...redownloaded...etc untill I finally get it correctly.

I am actually thinking about adjusting the powershell script at http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/6683.driver-pack-catalog to check the hashMD5 automatically and redownload if it fails. I am hoping Dell will have this download-problem fixed before I have time to figure out how to check MD5 hashes from powershell ;)

Still no fix for this? Only workarounds that sometimes work?

7 Months later and still no fix?

I have spent two days now trying to download 39 driver CAB updates. First it was 23 corrupt out of 39. Then it was 5 corrupt out of 10 retries... After countless retries, I am down to 4 CABs remaining to successfully download. We encounter this issue EVERY TIME we have to download these drivers. When are you going to fix this, Dell?!
