Latitude 5480 touchpad not working after MDT Windows 7x64
Hello,
As with each new model, we are deploying all Dell laptops with windows 7 using MDT.
As usual, I add the driver CAB pack for windows 7, and afterwards run the USB 3.0 .exe.
However for the 5480, the touchpad doesn't work at all.
MDT installs the Dell Touchpad - version 10.2207.101.114.
Touchpad is enabled.
It works fine pre-install. There's no errors in device manager.
Regular USB mouse works fine.
Any idea?

Update: The skylake-hardware works different from the older PS/2 touchpads in that it uses the Serial IO (I2C) controllers to address the touchpad.
Installing the Serial-IO driver for Windows 7 got my touchpad operational. Hello,
i can confirm the exact same issue on 5580, 7280 and 7480 models, using SCCM 1606 (no MDT) and the imported driver-cab for windows 7.
The touchpad on none of these models works with the drivers in the cab. Manually installing the driver from the cab through the devicemanager does not work either. Nor does running the touchpad-setup from the download-drivers page.
The devicemanager shows the ALPS and DELL Touchpad device with installed drivers, but the touchpad just does not respond to anything (same for the trackpoint on the 5580 / 7480 models)

@FPCY well what do you know - that actually worked.
Installed the driver and then the regular touchpad driver and bam. That was it.
Where did you find this driver? Why isn't this included int he cab??
Now to get it to work with MDT.....
UPDATE:
Extracted the .exe and added the x64 inf's to the out-of-box-drivers in MDT and deployment works perfectly now :)

Well, you wouldn't believe it but I cleared my MDT to diagnose the 5480 problem, which now works great.
I downloaded the latest cab for the older 5470 which we also still use, but now the touchpad on the 5470 doesn't work!
I had this exact problem some months ago on the 5470 but it miraculously disappeared. I thought I had fixed it by removing a powercfg task sequence., well, apparently not.
The IO driver doesn't work for the 5470. I'm only applying the 5470 pack + USB 3.0 install to it.
Any idea :S?

UPDATE2: I solved the problem for the 5470 too. I used the A04 cab now instead of the A05, and no more problems.
Seems like Dell messed up the latest Cab files, at least the windows 7 ones!

Thanks for the link to the Dell Deutsches site for the I2C chipset driver. Nice find!
The driver installed OK on my Latitude 5480 (running Win 7x64 Enterprise and the touchpad now moves the pointer. However two-finger scrolling does not work in any window or app, even though it's turned on in the Dell Touchpad Settings.
Using Dell Touchpad Driver ver.10.2207.101.114 from 3/10/2017
Alps I2C HID driver ver. 1.0.0.12 from 3/9/2017
Will check back if anyone posts here how to get the scrolling to work.
Thanks again for the chipset driver. At least the touchpad does SOMETHING now!

Do I not need to remove the drivers that were causing the problem in the first place or will MDT/SCCM know to grab these new drivers? If the former, which drivers are they?
