New SCCM System packages for Latitude 5480 and 7280

Hi:

Is there any ETA to have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 SCCM System packages for the new Latitude models 5480 and 7280?

I am only being able to find Windows 10 packages.

Regards

Don't those models only come with 7th Generation Intel Kaby Lake CPU's? If so, Windows 7 isn't supported.

I don´t think so, since there are Windows 7 and 8.1 drivers available individually on Downloads section for each model. Those are also coming with Skylake that supports Windows 7.

Hi,

We bought few laptops 5480 but I cannot deploy our windows 7 with SCCM as you. It's really annoying, we don't want to install our new laptops manually.

@ DELL SUPPORT : please make the cab for Windows 7 available as soon as possible. Each year, it's the same things.

Hugues

I highly doubt that Dell will release a CAB for these as they really don't want businesses deploying anything less than Win 10 on these machines. If you check other models using this gen of processors you'll see that they lack Win 7/8/8.1 drivers also.

Hi Pramod,

Any luck so far? Also will it be made available to Dell Command Suite SCCM extension as well?

Thanks,

Nishant

Hey Pramod,

I found the driver packs on your site last Friday.

I'm having an issue though.  I have not been able to get the touchpad drivers to work on our 7280, 7480 and 5480 laptops.  They all the Skylake processors and are running Windows 7 Enterprise  x64.  We are using MDT 2013 to install the drivers for each hardware model, but for some reason the touchpad doesn't work.  When I upgrade from Win7 to Win10, the touchpad works fine.  And in the BIOS, it also works.  This leads me to believe it's a driver conflict or installation order issue.  When using MDT, most of our drivers are installed via PnP.  While troubleshooting, I'm able to "kind of" get the touchpad to work, but it is very laggy and stops working after a reboot.

Any thoughts or known issues?

Hello FWOO

We did not come across this issue, Can you please extract Driver Pack content and try update touch pad driver manually using device manager?

Thanks

hi there,

I have successfully deployed the driver pack for latitude 5480 windows 10 x64 wihout any issues,

problem I have is in winpe the mouse is not showing or able to move so I have to use keyboard only to select task sequence etc.

I saw this thread also has the same issue, are you able to advise?

Hello FWOO (& Dell)

Did you manage to fix this problem?
The windows 7 .cab is available now, but the touchpad still does not work for me.

I'm also using skylake and MDT and Win7 x64. The drivers install correctly but the touchpad is not functioning.

I also had the sluggish touchpad before but can't seem to get that back.

Looks like we have the same problem exactly. I can't fix it.

Have the same problem. Unable to get the touchpad to work at all with Win7 x64.

I finally got it to work.  First of all I was running MDT 2013 on a Win 7 desktop.  Instead of using the model specific win7-x64 driver cab  I just individually downloaded each driver.  For the touchpad driver I created an application in MDT to automatically run a silent install. After running through the whole imaging process, the touchpad worked fine.  It still didn't work while in winpe and when windows initially started, but worked after the driver was installed via the EXE.

After all that work, I replicated the drivers to a server running MDT.  But on that server everything ran fine.  The touchpad didn't have any issues and was working the whole time.  It was like PnP wasn't working for the touchpad while imaging from my desktop.

@fwoo that was exactly how I got it to work with the 5470. Touchpad wouldn't work during deployment, but started working after installing the usb drivers or eventually after reboot.

However for the 5480 I couldn't get it to work.

Anyway I've gotten it to work thanks for FPCY's answer over here!

Why this isn't included in the cab is beyond me.
