Re: unable to find mxml1.dll

I had the same issue with 2.0.1 on Win7 x64 (Optiplex 960) but at least cctk worked. After upgrading to 2.1.1, it seems to install ok but when I run cctk, my OS freezes and needs a hard reboot!

Happens every time so wasn't a one-off. Exactly the same thing happens 'during' installation of the Dell OpenManage Client Instrumentation by the way, OS freeze and needs a hard reboot.

Tried on 2 Optiplex 960s which are working perfectly other than this and the same for both.

Any ideas what's going on?

Hi LiamSinton,

A similar issue was reported on Optiplex 980 by another customer.

This got fixed after upgrading to the latest BIOS.

Can you please upgrade the BIOS and try out ?

Also please let us know the version of BIOS being used ?

Hey

I'm on A14 at the minute although A17 is available on the Dell website so I'll upgrade amd test.

I'm also going to test running 2.1.1 on a VM and see what the results are....

I'll update again soon.

Ok, tested running and creating a cctk config on a VMware Win7 x64 VM which is working fine.

I am reluctanct to test any further with my own machine as I can do without another hard reboot but I will do coz it might help others.

I'll update again once I've updated to A17 and tested again.

Upgraded BIOS to A17 on Optiplex 960 and cctk now runs as expected, Shrinidhikatte you were right.

I guess the outdated BIOS (not by much by the way) is what was also causing the issues with the OMCI client too?

Do you have any explanation as to what caused the problems?

Hi Shrinidhikatte, do you have any idea why the onwithpxe option is missing from the cctk config options for embedded NIC1?

The options are on, off, onnopxe (Surely this is the same as on?), onwithscsi, onwithrplboot, onwithimageserverboot, not specified.

Surely there is a glaringly obvious option missing here, onwithpxe???

Thanks a lot for reporting.

Some minor bug in previous version of BIOS caused the issue in CCTK and OMCI.

Thanks for letting me know, any ideas about the missing cctk option or even which Dell team would support /answer questions on the tool?

I spoke to pro support and they're acting like it's some black magic.....

Regarding the tokens supported by CCTK and explanation regarding them, please refer to the document at this link support.dell.com/.../smcctk.

We shall consider adding the additional options in the upcoming version.
