Mixing device speed within a fabric
I want to run my Brocade 5300 edge switches back to my Brocade 48K (8GB blade) at 8GB. I also want to hook my new CX-480 at 8GB to the same 48K blade. My question is that all of my servers (currently) are running at 4GB. Is it possible to run this mixed speed environment or will the fabric force me to run at 4GB for EVERYTHING?

servers will auto-negotiate to 4G but if you get servers with 8G HBAs they will utialize 8G connectivity.

So therefore, any device set to auto will negotiate at the highest speed possible for that device and its negotiatinig partner.
