SHA-2 / 512 checksum needed for file integrity validation

Dear Colleagues,

has a SHA2/512 checksum utility been implemented in EMC OS. Have used FSUM -sha512 in the past in WinOs.

we need to run a cron job daily to generate sha2/512 checksum signature logs for all files in a file vault for validation for a customer requirement.

i have a bash script i wrote that does this with md5sum, and then does a differential between the past and present logs to show any changes.

please advise.

Best regards,

Hi John,

Is this query related to any of EMC products?

Re: SHA-2 / 512 checksum needed for file integrity validation

Yes. We just replaced a NetApp SAN with EMC.

the files in question are PLM system files stored on the SAN and managed by an application that runs on top of Oracle (MatrixOne).

we are required to perform SHA-2/512 checksum analysis on a periodic basis of both the metadata in the database and the file vaults/stores.

hence my question.

Thank you
