unable to login to VNX unisphere file simulator
Dear team,
I have tried to login to file simulator from the browser and the default login creds mentioned on the user guide did not work. I have tried using the below creds and it seem to fail. I have followed a similar discussion for similar passwords and no luck. Please help me in this case.
Link from where I had downloaded:
https://support.emc.com/downloads/12781_VNX1-Series
creds used:
root: nasadmin
nasadmin: nasadmin
sysadmin: sysadmin
EMC: EMC
EmC: EmC

i just deployed brand new VNX File Simulator single-dual datamover 8.1.0-38015.ova. After configuring an ip address for eth0 i was able to login to Unisphere with nasadmin/nasadmin.

if you are getting to the login prompt, you are past the point of JRE being the issue.

Did you check JRE (Java) version on your system where you are logging-on, whether its compatible with current one or needs higher version ?
Thanx

I have tried the ones which come in .zip files which didnt go through. Working on .ova files to see if gives me a green signal.

I have tried downloading the OVA and however it fails to login with nasadmin creds. Here is a summary of what I did for your reference:
1. Downloaded ova and imported on Vmware workstation 9
2. The setup comes with three nics which shows as bridged, where I have changed eth0 to NAT and the rest to custom (vmnet1 and 2)
3. eth0 was able to pull up the IP from DHCP of vmware and then assigned static ip to it.
4. Changed the host name under /etc/sysconfig/network , updated the DNS on /etc/resolv.conf and added host entries
on /etc/hosts for VNX and my server (2k8r2). Did the same on the window's host to ensure communication.
5. Installed unisphere client(Win-32-x86-en_US-1.0.55.1.0044-1) on the server and it gets to the login screen where it fails.
6. I have similar simulator for Celerra (Celerra VSA 6.0.36.4 - UBERv3.2) from Nikapedia and it lets me login and perform my test absolutely fine.
Please check and let me know where I am going wrong so that I can have this issue resolved.

i am not sure why you are trying to use unisphere client to connect to the simulator, you should be able to use your browser to go to the simulator IP address address.

yeah I do understand...Either ways makes no difference and login does not work . I am preparing a demo for which I wanted to show both , but authentication shouldn't have anything to do with it. Please advice.
