Any reason why I can't use the CLI 'mv' command to move an existing folder

Any reason why I can't use the CLI 'mv' command to move an existing shared folder to a new location within the volume and attach a new share to the folder?

RE: Any reason why I can't use the CLI 'mv' command to move an existing folder

Hello,

Can you provide a little more details on what you are trying to do?

Which "CLI" are you referring to?   On the fluidFS server or at the client?

If you are down at the FluidFS 'CLI' then do not just move files around.  That would not be a workable solution. You would very likely end up with missing data or at very least not be able to access your data w/o intervention from support.  The data is spread across multiple volumes, min of two.  Just moving files around would remove the references to them in the FluidFS database.

You should not be accessing low level CLIs.  That's reserved for support.

On the client side you can do that.  You'll have to re-do the share of course.
