Disk firmwire out of date

Hello

This morning from Dell EQL SAN headquarters I am seeing something like this on multiple drives and on multiple chasis. No udpates done recently. Any idea why we are seeing this?

Thanks

Paras.

I'm getting the exact same thing, started a few days ago. What's strange is the firmware update java tool won't let me update the drives firmware, it says Up-to-date. ??!! I'm excited to see a response.

Hello,

There's a new drive firmware update kit either on the website or very soon will be.  That I suspect will resolve the error.

 Regards,

Don

Ok, cool.  I see ver 12 from only a few days ago.  Also, what's strange is that the upgrade tool thinks the drive firmware is up to date. So it won't let me attempt to update.

Hello,

A new upgrade tool will be released but in the mean time you can install the updated drive firmware kit manually to get rid of the alerts.

Don

Ok thanks for the info.  I've only recently used the upgrade tool for the first time.  It downloaded from the Equallogic's web interface.  How will I get the updated updater?

Hello,

It will be posted to the website. Typically 2-4 weeks after a release.

Updating drive firmware manually is also quite easy and fast.

Don

Updated the drives firmware from eqlsupport.com and the critical warning is gone.

Thanks

I guess I can manually update.  I'm trying to use the java based updater and it has a green check for the drives firmware version, so it won't let me update.

Hello,

Since it's a Standalone app, it has to be updated for every release of EQL and Drive firmware.

manual update is very simple.  Transfer the kit to the array.  At CLI.  Type 'update'   Follow the prompts.

It will check to see if any updates are needed, if not it will exit and delete the file.

 Regards,

Don
