HIT installation and MS PMIO
Hi,
I would like to know if there is a requirement to install Microsoft MPIO feature before installing DELL HIT app?
User manual states: "MPIO service — The Host Integration Tools installation process automatically configures and starts and enables the MPIO service to function properly."
Is any benefit of installing MS MPIO feature before installing HIT?

Hello,
Yes you must install MS MPIO in order for HIT/ME to function. HIT/ME does not replace MS MPIO. MS allows vendors to add features, via a "Device Specific Module (DSM)" API. That's what HIT/ME does. This way it won't impact other storage vendors attached to your server. Each Vendor can have its own DSM.
