PS4110 connected to NON-Stacked PowerConnect Switch on VMWARE

Is it possible to deploy PS4110 (active/passive) to two non-stacked/non-LAG PowerConnect switch for our vmware infra. I tried deploying it but when switch CM0 to CM1, the storage becomes "iSCSI initiator connection failure". I already implemented port binding and all necessary setup for vmware.

Please advice if possible.

Hello,

I concur with Joerg, an interconnect between the switches is required.  The controllers should be cross connected to them, and the interlink needs to be sufficiently large to handle the traffic.  So for example, a single GbE link wouldn't do.  Especially if the group size were to increase. Stacking is the best method.  It's very fast, with low overhead on the switch compared to trunking.

Here are some links related to switches and networking for Equallogic arrays.

No, because every EQL frontend port needs connectivity to each Server storage port.

Joerg.
