To check what disks you have in each member use the following:
Login to the group IP via telnet/ssh
at the group name prompt type:
grpname>member select member_name
show disk #
In order for the KD0A update to work the disks need to be of the following:
Seagate 7200 RPM SATA ST32000644NS (2 TB)
Seagate 7200 RPM SATA ST31000524NS (1 TB)
Seagate 7200 RPM SATA ST3500514NS (500 GB)
If the PS6000 doesn't have theses disks, its ok to run array members with different disk FW levels.
Also are both members at the same version of the Array Firmware, is so what version?
I had to call Dell for this answer.
Do not connect to the Group configuration group IP. This will only update the first attached Array member.
In my case it ended in .50 .
In the group manager application. Click on the Array member. The ethernet port0 is where you want to FTP the BINARY HDD update file. In my case this ended with .65) . After uploading the file in binary mode to the Array member, then SSH to the same Array member's ethernet port0 IP address. Now you should be able to update the PS6000 HDD that are upgradable.
The drive firmware update instructions do mention to repeat the *.bin file copy on each group member containing the drive type that requires the update (step 2). Once copied you open a telnet/ssh connection to the "IP address of the array" (eth0 is typically used).
Glad to hear you are all set now!
