With the EQL arrays you only configure the active controller. These controllers run as active/passive. For example if controller 0 is active you would configure it with the IPs. You would cable up the second controller as well but you would not assign IP addresses to it. If the active controller were to fail, it would then fail over to the other controller and it would use the same IP addresses that you used on the other controller. You may want to go to the www.support.equallogic.com website and login, then you can go to the resources section and click on documentation. You will then see the PS4100 series and you will see the install and setup guide. It will go through all of the cabling configurations and settings that will need to be configured. I hope this helps.

You can find the setup documentation for the PS4100 on the www.support.equallogic.com website.  You will need to log in with your equallogic account and then go to the resources section and then to documentation and you will see the PS4100. As far as the Hyper-v goes here is a link to the solutions overview, network solutions guide, storage solutions guide and also the high availability guide.

Let me know how it goes and if you need anything else.

what does the correct ip scheme look like?

i know for the md3200 series arrays it is recomenede to use 4 seperate subnets for each port on the controller. the ps4100 only has 2 ports per controller. should i use 2 seperate subnets or just one for iSCSI.

For the PS4100 EQL array you will use just 1 subnet. You will have the group IP address. Then you will have the IP address for eth 0 and eth 1. They will all three be in the same subnet range.

No, this list would be for an MD-series SAN, which is a completely different design.

An example of how it would be is:

Group IP: 192.168.130.20

eth0: 192.168.130.21

eth1: 192.168.130.22

And optionally you can use a management IP, which would add a LAN IP to eth2 and another LAN IP to the management IP.
