So what makes this system a 1000 ? You mentioned multiple products but it's not clear what product models would comprise a 1000.  Is it a VMAX 950, is it an all flash Isilon ?

Re: Ask The Expert: VxBlock System 1000, #1 in converged, now all in one system

The VxBlock System 1000 can have VMAX 250F/FX, VMAX 950F/FX, or Unity 350F - 650F as primary or secondary storage today.  In addition, Isilon is available for guest access.  The VxBlock System 1000 is also the first VxBlock to allow multiple storage arrays from the factory, without the need for a Storage Technology Extension.

Re: Ask The Expert: VxBlock System 1000, #1 in converged, now all in one system

The formal name is Converged Technology Extension for <insert extension type here> and is the way we extend the Converged System capabilities in previous platforms (340/540/740).  The concept of Technology Extensions is no longer used with the introduction of the VxBlock System 1000.  The addition of Cisco UCS C-series servers or additional Dell EMC storage arrays are now supported under the VxBlock System.  For more information about Converged Technology Extensions, take a look at this link Dell EMC Converged Technology Extensions.

We all are excited! This has been a vision of ours for a few years now to simplify the myriad Vblock, VxBlock and Converged Technology Extensions products into a more understandable unified offering with just as much flexibility while easier to consume.
