Kazeon 4.8 was released in December 2013 and introduced several new features.  Here are some of them:

  • Search Deduplication
    • This is probably the most requested new feature for eDiscovery shops.
    • It detects duplicate documents in Kazeon cases and shows you only one copy of each document.  This eliminates the need to review the same document (email, etc) if there are multiple copies.
    • It is a new process that runs immediately after case processing to identify and "hide" the duplicate objects.
  • Object Family Handling
    • Another big one for eDiscovery shops
    • Just like deduplication, it's used during review.  It allows reviewers to easily identify the hierarchy of objects and apply actions on them.
    • Can assign a single family of objects to a single reviewer providing complete context to the family components
  • New SharePoint Connector (uses CSVC now)
  • New Documentum Connector (uses CSVC now)
  • Support for Atmos Cloud
  • Support for EMC Cloud Tiering Appliance (CTA)
  • Support for 250M files per node (up from 100M in 4.7) for basic crawls (1B files in a 4-node cluster)
  • CSVC Connector Services Enhancements

Since Kazeon 4.8 builds on the 64-bit architecture that was introduced in 4.7, so additional RAM or a complete chassis swap may be required in order to run 4.8.

More information on these updates can be found in the Kazeon 4.8 Release Notes documentation.
