Hello Randy,
Yes you can add an a PERC6/i to your T7400 as the PERC card was optional addon for the machine. please see the link below & see the tech specs where it list the PERC 6/I as optional.

Yes the PERC6/i needs to go into the PCI-e 4X slot.

The motherboard has these slots. Should this card be put into the PCI-e 4x slot?
1 PCI-e 4x slot (x8 wired as x4)
1 PCI slot (32bit/33mhz)
3 PCI-X slots (64bit/100mhz with support for 3.3v or universal cards)
2 PCI-e x6 Gen 2 Graphics slots
